The Lost Art of Felicia Browne

Until recently little was known about the British artist Felicia Browne beyond her decision to volunteer for the Republican side in the Spanish Civil War, resulting in her death in a skirmish in August 1936. This article draws on an important new documentary source to re-evaluate her life and her fateful decision to join the Republican militias.
